I started with changing my method / style of push-ups to "slow and steady" leaning push-ups, and only doing 10 at each spot - as opposed to pumping out 12. Full disclosure, my "slow and steady" hasn't been as slow as originally intended, but it's slow enough that causes a pretty solid burn and makes my body work during the last 2-3 reps.
I decided to stop taking the Osteo Bi-Flex pills out of curiosity to see if maybe my body was having some odd side effects from taking them. About 36 hours later I was back on them. While at work, my hands hadn't felt that sore in a long time. So yea, I'm back on them, and it's practically night or day...or evening and day. :)
On a happy note, I managed to shave 1 1/2 minutes off my lunchtime jog routine Thursday - felt good to do that, and the jog itself felt pretty good. Naturally the next day I decide to grab a wok bowl from the local Good Food Store, and rather than splitting the meal into two meals, I ate the entire thing. Great job me...
Well, the week was decent. The weekend, not so much. I made some poor decisions, especially where the subject of being healthy and losing weigh come into play. I indulged in a bit too much alcohol Friday evening. Naturally on Saturday I went to run errands around lunch time, and of course my stomach decided it needed food or it was going to take revenge on me....enter, Wendy's for a burger and fries....yea, I'm pretty disappointed in myself, but it helped my stomach a bit; an hour later I grabbed a green smoothie from the local Good Food Store - which helped a bit too. So yea, I blew it over the weekend in my opinion. Although, I started getting back on track Sunday evening - great healthy salad for dinner! Avocado, teriyaki chicken, kale, red/green cabbage, diced apple, topped with a really good balsamic vinaigrette.
So here's to a better week 13! Still working hard to make that goal, going to be a crazy week.
The salad as mentioned above |
